World PI Week 22nd to 29th April 2012
IDFNZ joins PID patient groups across the world in celebrating World PI Week22nd to 29th April
A new website www.worldpiweek.org has been organised by the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) linked to the 7th Anniversary of the World Day of Immunology to lift awareness of immunology to the public and reignite the PID campaign worldwide.
The PID campaign builds on the success of the 2006 EU PID Consensus Conference and the substantial work undertaken over the past 5-years by the PID patient, nurse and physician organisations of EFIS, IPOPI, INGID and ESID. The aim is to build on the work that has been done to date and to unite all stakeholders push for our common objective of pursuing both early diagnosis and optimal care for patients with PID
Here in New Zealand IDFNZ is launching its "ALL4GOOD Investigate Immunity" school education programme to coincide with this event. In addition there are PID posters and information displays at blood donor centres and hospitals around New Zealand.
