The Board and Staff wish to offer their heartfelt condolences to Anita, Hamish and Asher on the passing of darling Aria.
For the last five years we have had the privilege of knowing Aria, following her amazing journey and witnessing her braveness and determination. She is a sweet, precious girl who has touched the hearts of people across the world and will never be forgotten.
Her parents are equally amazing - even in the darkest stages of this long and arduous journey, they have opened up their hearts to share their experience with others; we know that many of our members facing similar medical emergencies have drawn strength and comfort from these candid insights shared on her website www.aria.org.nz.
Also inspiring has been the generosity of New Zealanders who hearing about her plight, gave generously to assist - enabling Aria to have her family around her whilst overseas for her transplant.
We thank the medical professionals both here and in Nebraska for their care and tenderness as they fought to save Aria through many medical emergencies.
The ending was sadly not the one we all wished for - but Aria was certainly surrounded by love at all times, the prayers and tributes on her blog have been amazing and inspiring to everyone .
At rest with her saviour in heaven, Aria is now truly healed. We thank God for blessing us with her for the time she was with us all.
An open service to celebrate Aria's life is to be held -10am Friday 1st July, St Andrews Church, Manurewa for all that are able to attend.
